That will not be happening on this occasion, however, after a comprehensive triumph in Adelaide put the hosts 3-0 up for the fourth consecutive series on home turf.

England's famous supporters' group, the vocal contingent, have a large group traveling for the last two matches in Sydney and Melbourne.

There are also travel parties who will celebrate the holidays down under, as well as loved ones planning a special expedition.

The Disappointed Travelers

A group of four supporters are among those affected.

The group had their itineraries and entry credentials booked for the Boxing Day and New Year Tests "a full year in advance", dreaming of a rare England series success.

Sadly, they've observed Australia defeat England convincingly in just a short period from their house in the north of England.

"Everyone at work has been giving me grief about it being over for the last two weeks," said Sam.

"We always thought that we would have something to play for upon our arrival."

Diminishing Hope

There was plenty of positivity concerning a potential victory of ending their 15-year wait for a victory down under prior to the first ball.

But they are now staring down the barrel of continuing a barren spell in the country to 19 matches when the fourth Test gets under way in the MCG on Christmas Day.

Ben Stokes' side - and their followers - will be keen to prevent a whitewash.

One sibling noted the "entertainment" of head coach the positive style of play in recent times had "renewed interest in" the five-day game for English supporters.

However, the group said they had minimal hopes for the fourth and fifth Tests - and all they are asking for from the players is "a bit of fight".

"Commentators consistently alludes to it, but it all hinges on fortitude. 'Bazball' has been become a phrase now that is just, like, impractical batting," commented another sibling.

"During a long match, you should dig in. Wafting outside 'outside the line has not been part of the coaching manuals, and that is largely because of the top order."

The Remaining Matches

When questioned if he believed England will triumph in a Test in this contest, one fan responded: "It appears the Aussies are just too good at the moment."

"There is going to have to be more than one player that stands up for England and makes a big impact."

Despite the scoreline, the group remains anticipating the trip.

"It will be a great time nonetheless," commented Katie Ryding. "We must adopt that outlook."

"Obviously it is disappointing we aren't fighting for more, but we have spent so much money as it is."

"We will make the most of having Christmas and New Year in Australia. This will be our first experience traveling at this time of year."

An educator, Katie is intent on maximizing the long-haul travel as part of her time off.

"Should the cricket disappoint, I can play golf to fall back on," she finished.
